Responsibilities:
  • Independently perform clinical laboratory tasks (testing and documentation). Responsible for following lab procedures on specimen processing and handling, testing, analyzing, reporting and maintaining complete and accurate records of all testing performed on-site.
  • Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results.
  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Perform all aspects of flow cytometry testing and analysis, including: Calibrating instrumentation and lab equipment, setting up samples, fine-tuning gating techniques and preparing and maintaining reagents.
  • Acquire data and perform analysis using BD FACS Canto II multicolor Flow Cytometer. Distinguish between normal and abnormal case results. Summarize and prepare pre-testing and testing material for pathologist-level sign-out.
  • Maintain/update CLIA and CAP/COLA accreditation standards and manuals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology or Allied Health
  • Required: Fulfill CLIA 88 regulations to qualify individual to perform high complexity testing as a Medical Technologist
  • Preference: MT, H, C, BB, M, I, ASCP certified
