QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA or BS in Biology or related field
- ASCP certification in cytogenetics
- 2+ Years experience in chromosome analysis
JOB SUMMARY:
- Perform accurate cytogenetic analysis of metaphase cells with automated imaging system.
- Exercise sound judgment when reviewing previous cytogenetic results and correlating them with current findings to detect clinical status change from previous results.
- Distinguish between normal and abnormal case results
- Follow lab procedures on specimen processing and handling, testing, analyzing, reporting
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all testing performed on-site
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques, scientific principles, quality control documentation and equipment maintenance.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results
- Adhere to established turn-around-times while maintaining highest quality of test results.
- Adhere to all established laboratory safety requirements.
- Follow all company policies and maintains a business-like, professional attitude.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
