CD14, CD15, CD24, CD45, CD59, CD64, CD235a, FLAER

Clinical Significance:

Useful for diagnosing and monitoring PNH therapy. Aplastic Anemia and MDS may present with small clones and may resond to immunotherapy. WBC analysis is helpful in detecting clone size, while RBC analysis is the most apppropriate to monitor subclinical PNH and eculizumab treatment.

Specimen Requirements:

 

Peripheral Blood: Lavender Top: EDTA (2 ml)

Green Top: Sodium Heparin (2 ml)

Storage and Transport:

Specimens should be received at CorePath within 72 hours from collection to assure sample integrity and acceptable cell viability.  Ship same day as drawn whenever possible. Peripheral blood and bone marrow should be shipped at room temperature. In hot weather, use cold pack for transport, making sure cold pack is not in direct contact with specimen.
