Dr. Alma J. Sanchez-Salazar is American Board Certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and hematopathology. Dr. Sanchez-Salazar completed her hematopathology fellowship and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she performed and read bone marrow biopsies. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Sanchez-Salazar worked as a clinical laboratory scientist.
During her residency training, Dr. Sanchez-Salazar presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium and Canadian Academy of Pathologists Annual Meeting. On completion of her residency, she was awarded the Rolf Sjuve Scott Award after being selected by her peers for excellence in knowledge, work ethic and teamwork.
